Samanthalee Berrios' Final Portfolio

Judge Gordon of Springfield District Court in Springfield, Massachusetts. I edited this picture by using the unsharp mask tool under the filter options to focus on Judge Gordon's face and to make the photo more focused allowing the audience to see the details of the face expressions more clearly.

Self Portrait. For this picture , the beam in the background appeared to be bisecting my body. Below, I edited this same picture using the rectangular and elliptical marquee tool to copy pieces of this ceiling to cover over the distracting beam.

This picture featured Professor Drewniak of the Science Department in her environment in the labs in Carr . I edited this picture by cropping the excess negative space on the bottom bringing in the composition of the picture. I also used the unsharp mask tool under the filter options to focus on Professor Drewniak's face and the details of intestines in the jar.

This picture was taken in Isabella, Puerto Rico . It is called "El pozo de Jacinto". It is a natural rock formation, which makes you feel like you are taking a walk on Mars rather than on a tropical island. There is a legend about this hole, about a farmer called Jacinto, who tied his favorite cow to him while leading the rest of his herd. The cow came too close to the hole and fell into it - taking Jacinto with her and killing him. According to the legend, water will shoot up from the hole if you call "Jacinto, give me the cow".

This picture was my favorite from my photo story. It features Kiyana Cruzado and her little sister Jayda. This picture conveys the emotions between the two girls and their devoted relationship to each other. Children at a young age look towards quality time with family. The only quality time that these two girls have is with each other.

Kiyana Cruzado 20, wanders on Carr Hill at Bay Path College campus at 6am after getting dropped off. The campus is yet deserted but she walks around enjoying the warm weather waiting until the few hours pass by until her classes start and her busy day begins.

As her sister Kiyana is in school. Jayda patiently waits by the window for her sister to arrive.

After Kiyana finishes a day full of classes she then focuses her attention on her little sister Jayda. She takes a bus to pick up her sister from school and brings her home where she then has to take care of the needs of her sister and the maintenance of the household.

Children at a young age look towards quality time with family. The only quality time that these two girls have is with each other. They both share a special bond that is irreplaceable. Everyday they both patiently wait to be reunited after they part ways.

Laundry is a tedious chore that Kiyana does every other day for her family when she comes home. Her sister Jayda seems to enjoy this task more than Kiyana does.

While Kiyana watches over Jayda to make sure she doesn't get burned, Jayda happily helps her prepare their dinner for the evening.

After preparing dinner and maintaining household chores, Kiyana attempts to focus on her homework and read over some bills. Her sister Jayda, excited about a picture she drew for her tries to get Kiyana's attention. Kiyana ignores her sister's distraction as she concentrates on her reading.

After taking care of her sister's needs, Kiyana puts her little sister to bed. She waits by her bedside and watches over her little sister until she soundly falls asleep.

After a long day of attending to her sister Jayda and maintaining the household, Kiyana finally gets a moment to relax with some leisure reading. While she watches the door all night for her mother's arrival, Kiyana stays up in case for her and her sister's safety. Until then is when her day is put to a rest.
